With xrpld 3.4.0, the reference server's DEB and RPM packages are now hosted at packages.xrplf.org and use an XRPL Foundation signing key. This change is less spectacular than a new amendment, but directly affects the software distribution chain used by operators.
Package signatures let administrators verify the origin and integrity of installed software. Moving to XRPLF infrastructure fits the ecosystem's evolution toward a more distinct XRP Ledger identity.
For operators, the practical consequence is to follow the new installation and upgrade instructions. Ordinary XRP users need take no direct action. The change concerns server infrastructure and does not alter XRP balances.
