Ripple Payments Direct removes several corridors; China USD is later restored

2026-09-27

September changes removed several payout corridors and financial-instrument types. Ripple later restored the China (USD) corridor CN_CFXPS, which is again accepted by financialInstrumentType and validatePayoutRails; the other September withdrawals remain in place.

Event: September 2026

Ripple Payments Direct documentation indicates that a series of corridors and financial-instrument types were removed in September 2026. The list includes documented options for China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand and Turkey, as well as certain elements related to Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

Ripple later restored the China (USD) corridor, CN_CFXPS, to the documentation and API specification. It is again accepted by financialInstrumentType and validatePayoutRails, while the other corridors withdrawn in September remain withdrawn. Integrators using China USD should also review its current requirements, including originatorAccountNumber for ORIGINATOR identities.

The documentation states that the affected types are no longer accepted by financialInstrumentType or validatePayoutRails and that the corresponding schemas were removed. In this change note, it does not provide a single economic explanation for why each corridor was removed.

A documentation or API change should therefore not be turned into a conclusion about Ripple's overall strategy. For integrators, however, the information matters: applications using these values should check compatibility and the payout rails that remain available.

This development concerns Ripple Payments Direct. It is not a change to the XRP Ledger itself.
